Dr. Kimia is a preferred provider for Invisalign, a popular choice for straightening your teeth. Invisalign is virtually invisible, smooth, comfortable and removable, for easy cleaning. You can eat what you like without worry of food getting stuck. The system has minimal interference with people’s lifestyle. Patients are often in disbelief and shock when we inform them that some of our team members are in treatment. Even in close proximity and contact, it is not noticeable.
Whitening
Tooth whitening, or bleaching, is a cosmetic process intended to improve the color of teeth and give them a pleasant, youthful and lighter shade. The process can be done either with a tray system (carrying dental bleaching gel) for home treatment, or as an in-office procedure with an energy source (cool laser light or other plasma light), which activates the dental bleaching agent that is applied to the tooth surface. This accelerates the bleaching process and achieves an instant whitening result. We also offer internal bleaching of teeth where indicated. Each mouth and dentition is different and therefore we may use one one or a combination of the above described methods to achieve an optimal result.
Grafting and Re-Contouring of Gums
The smile can be affected by uneven gums or a short lip showing excessive gums also commonly referred to as a gummy smile. With proper planning, a combination of laser therapy, gum grafting (sub-epithelial or allograft) or gingivectomy/crown lengthening can make a drastic change with minimum discomfort and down time. These procedures can also corrective the recession of gums. Not every tooth or patient is a candidate for such procedures, as there are limitations, but our periodontist Dr. Lorenz will explain the different techniques as well as their prognosis in each given situation.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers, or laminates, are thin shells of dental ceramic fabricated to adhere on the tooth outer surface to create ideal shape, color and alignment. Porcelain veneers provide long-lasting results in improving your smile. Veneer preparations are very conservative and therefore preserve most of the initial tooth structure. With our ceramist's help and expertise, each porcelain veneer is designed with your specific goals and needs in mind, cosmetically and functionally.
Bonding
Dental bonding is a cosmetic process which repairs tooth chipping, abrasion (wear) of the root surfaces, fills in gaps, and improves the size, alignment, shape and color of the teeth. Bonding employs various shades of tooth color composite material, molded into the ideal tooth shape. This creates secured chemical and physical retention to the treated tooth surface. Once polished, most of the time, it cannot be distinguished from the natural tooth.
Mockup & Wax
At your request, our Lab technician/ceramist, Jimmy, can create a mock-up/wax-up of your teeth so you can see the final result before any treatment is initiated. This technique is usually utilized for smile makeovers.
